You could have what I always have for breakfast: sausages, preserves, bacon and eggs, served with bread rolls. It's very hardy. [She means hearty.]

Well then, you know anyone here who makes it? Or the separate parts, I guess, I can always collect and assemble them myself. DIY it a bit.

The parts I believe you can get from the market. What does "DIY" mean?

Do it yourself. Mostly it's for stuff like assembling furniture or big plumbing projects, but really I think it should also count for cooking.

Why... would you need to assemble your own furniture? Are you a carpenter?

Not a professional or anything, but sometimes it's just cheaper. [And sometimes you fuck up and the medical and repair bills are worse.] Don't need to deal with fitting stuff through the door either if you assemble it inside.

Huh? Oh man, I don't mean that much doing it yourself. Just getting the ingredients and putting them together myself, you know?

Oh. [Alice nodded, though still not understanding.] Well, I suppose unless you have a servant you wouldn't put things together yourself?

Hey, I wasn't rich enough to have servants most of my life, you know? Got used to doing those things by myself anyways.
