[It's been a while now since the events with the wolves. Katsuki's managed to get off with only some injuries - the usual bites and scratches that he can certainly take on a good day. He's tough, and too stubborn to go down if it's not swinging. Of course...not everyone is like him, and he's had to deliver some very difficult news to several people in Somnius. It feels awful, that taste of sheer failure that every Hero deals with at least once. He felt it was coming, too...which hits the hardest. Katsuki felt something bad was coming, and yet he did nothing. What could he do? Even he knows that going at things alone is unwise. Isn't what what he said to that damn nerd before he took a hit for him? Pfft...
Whatever, little to be said over what happened, it's in the past now. They can only move forward. And Katsuki has several people to check in on, but first and foremost...the one person he was most concerned about (even if he'll never say out loud). He knew her being on her own wasn't a good idea, but what else was there? Hopefully something like this doesn't happen again, or he can get to people - to kids like her - sooner. ...Again, hindsight. He grunts and shakes his head as he trudges over to where he's heard Alice is staying for the time. The church, a place he'd never think to visit. Katsuki isn't religious in the slightest, and certainly not in the western practice of faith. With his foul mouth and crappy personality...no priest or holy person would want him near.
And yet...he's got a small basket hanging from his arm with a cloth draped over it, an he's abnormally quiet, looking around for a particular person.]
[Alice's left arm is in a sling, while healers were able to heal the entire wound, what remained were two crescent moon scars on either side of her shoulder. They thought it best she rest it and not move it too much.
She has stayed in the church since Katsuki brought her to it, never daring to venture outside while the wolves and everything else is going on. Alice has tried her best to stay out of the way and not underfoot. She understands that an emergency is going on, bodies are being brought in and some can be saved, some... it was more to just let the families know.
But she's still just a child. A little girl amongst all the chaos with no guardian. Whenever a goblin or Gelfling adult comes over to ask her if there is someone they should contact, her answer is "no... no one."
Alice was curled up on a windowsill, again, trying desperately to stay out of trouble and out of the way, with a chess board in front of her that she's contemplating. A goblin had pointed Katsuki in her direction and when she looked up from the board, she saw Katsuki and she suddenly brightened up considerably.]
MR. BAKUGOU! [She shuffles off the windowsill and runs up to him, her one free arm wrapping around him in a hug.]
Hey kid, you alright? [Audrey calls without preamble, pretty soon after she wakes up. She's actually still lying in bed, feeling very tired and sore after all that fighting last night.]
[On the morning of the 4th, Alice will find - delivered to her address by the adorable little Mailmice that have been working hard since they got back to dutifully fulfilling their jobs - a medium sized box wrapped somewhat plainly, but still looking quite nice. It's addressed specifically to her but without any indication of who sent it on the outside.
Once inside, she will finds some issue paper guarding a few small items. The first is a crochet charm of a cat that looks very similar to her own cat, Dinah. It's not too big, and can be attached to a purse or bag of her choice, or anywhere else, with a soft leather fastener and metal clip that it dangles from.
Next to that is a container holding a gorgeous decorated lemon pound cake and a very cute single serve tea set with a small baggy of loose-leaf green tea inside where the strainer would be. The latter two items are wrapped the most, to ensure they don't get smooshed or broken during delivery, but they come in tact.
Finally, a card that doesn't say much other than a simple "happy birthday" on it and a signature from a certain blond someone.]
Alice, hello! I know your birthday has come and gone and I'm sorry for being a bit late, but I wasn't sure what it was I wanted to give you until now. Would it be all right to give you a somewhat-late gift with my sincerest apologies?
[Jasmine, of course, attended Gamora's birthday party for Alice and participated in the tea time, games, and cake-cutting with all the enthusiasm of a doting older sister.
But she also came with a neatly wrapped package, to be opened once Alice has the time following festivities. When that time arrives, she will find inside a collection of seeds for morning glories, irises, daffodils/asphodils, sunflowers, and pansies. Since a few of these are flowers Jasmine admitted she didn't know, it is presumed she got Aurora and Aladdin's help to accumulate these at the marketplace. There's no lily of the valley, since Alice said they're poisonous, so instead a hairpin designed like the flower is tucked next to the seeds. Under these are a huge stack of fine parchment, a bottle of ink, and a reservoir pen.
In the package is also a card, hidden inside a wax-sealed envelope with Alice's name scribed in elegant cursive on the front, in both Roman and Persian (آلیس) alphabet. The card itself has two messages inside: One from Jasmine and the other from Aladdin.]
Alice, You've only just turned eight, and already you've accomplished more than the average adult. You braved wolves, raised a family of cats, and overthrew an entire kingdom - but, most importantly, you're one of the brightest, sweetest, and most imaginative young girls I know. Seeing you and hearing your stories every day makes my stay here all the brighter; I hope your tight circle of friends do the same for you. Please accept these gifts from the two of us, to enrich your garden and document your dreams. May you someday feel just as special as we think you are. Jasmine
[Believe it or not, Aladdin spent ages trying to come up with his message. As evidenced by what is actually written, he must have given up after reading Jasmine's one too many times.]
[ One morning, as your character steps out of their home, they are greeted by an owl messenger, bearing a letter. The letter tells them that they have been selected to participate in a gift exchange, and they are to deliver a gift to Blake Belladonna by the end of the month. The letter says nothing more, and once the letter is read, the owl will fly away. ]
[On the 24th Alice will find a box with her name on it, along with a holiday card that reads,]
Merry Christmas! - Arrakis Faylare
[Inside there are two things, a small bag of chocolates and a personalized chess set!
Alice's chocolates are flower shaped and they are very mildly spicy with a hint of tea and orange. Tea is for her love of tea parties and orange is for her lovely bright personality.
Alice's chess set is designed after a fancy tea party! The wooden board acts as a table for the pieces that are painted to look like they are made of china, like tea cups. The white pieces have a pink rose design, while the black ones have white roses. Arrakis's initials, AF, have been painted in silver on the bottom of one of the black knights.]
[It had taken her a bit to understand that there was a holiday season among many of the humans here, but that being done, she's quick to embrace it.]
[One of the things she had learned, over the years, was carving. It was a hobby that had never left her, even after she'd escaped beyond the deserts of Ryloth.]
[And so it is that Alice will find a small wrapped package on her doorstep, and inside will be a carefully crafted wooden piece, with an intricate carving of a lithe Twi'lek female, stars behind her - white paint is added to give her a distinct appearance, gold paint to the stars. It is Kikalekki, the Twi'lek Mother Goddess - the protector and guide.]
[She'll include an explanatory note for that, obviously. And her wishes for good things for Alice in the season.]
[On Christmas Eve, after having an impressive holiday feast made by Katsuki and Alice together (Alice both supervised and helped with several dishes), presents will be laid out under the equally splendid tree that was decorated to the nines. Even if Katsuki doesn't really celebrate Christmas to the degree that those of the Western World might, he wants to make it special for Alice most of all. They've had a rough past few days, and she deserves joy and to be spoiled absolutely rotten. There's not just one gift box or bag under the tree for her, but several - all with tags reading 'imouto'. Little sister.
One beautifully wrapped gift has a new outfit for her to wear, complete even with the bow. Another, right next to it, holds some festive boots for the winter, absolutely stuffed full with a variety of chocolates, candy canes, and caramels that Katsuki either made himself or purchased from the best sweets parlors in town. Not really wrapped, but placed nicely under the tree with a bow around its neck is a stuffed pink rabbit that doubles as a cozy pillow and smells faintly of rose - aromatherapy pals to help kids sleep.
Finally, in a box that's a little heavier than the others, that Katsuki tells Alice to be careful with, is a tea set more Asian influenced, but with a cute design nonetheless. There's also several bags of loose leaf tea of flavors he remembers Alice liking, and a bag of butter cookies he made to pair with them.
Oh, and once she thinks everything is done, and she's cooed and squealed herself silly over everything, Katsuki will invite her to play chess before bed...pulling out a brand new chess set from underneath her bed. Yes, he went all out, but Alice deserves every bit of it. You better win the game, you little brat, or he'll never let you hear the end of it. Plus, New Years is coming up next week too, so this is just the beginning of what he's got planned for her.
Enjoy, Pipsqueak. ♥]

Thank you very much for your gifts. They were all lovely and the cookies were delicious. As for my new friend, it now has pride of place on my bedside table.
Would you like to come over tomorrow morning? I'll have the cinnamon rolls and mulled tea ready, and it's still technically the Christmas season.
I'll also introduce you to someone who's in need of a good home. *The following picture is attached to the text-minus the background.
[A basket is delivered to Alice's door step by a little white fox. Inside the basket were a box of tea leaves, an orange, a small bag of chocolates, a colorful ball and a what looks to be an odd plush of a bunny. There is also a note written in neat handwriting.]
Dear Little Alice,
I may not be Father Christmas, but I do hope you like the treats, and enjoy playing with the toys.
[ Back during the holidays Alice will have found a gift from Inigo in return as well - in the form of a small, cute vase standing outside her door, filled with a bouquet of white heather flowers. It looks like Inigo may have picked them himself..
There's a card attached to the vase, which reads: ]
Dear Alice,
I hope this is an appropriate gift! I rather enjoyed your cookies, but it seems that I still have much to learn about this entire "Christmas" occasion..
Still, I could not resist gifting you these flowers when they remind me of you. Do you know that there is a language to flowers, Alice? Any specific flower can give a specific message to a person. These ones carry the message of wishes coming true, which is what I wish for you in this place.
Thank you so much for the flowers! And actually yes, I do know the language of flowers! I speak it fluently! I once had to help my sister create a bouquet that signified disdain!
Thank you so much for wanting my wishes to come true, I really quite appree - aprec-appreciate you wanting my wishes to come true!
[On the morning of the 25th, Alice will be left a small basket, a simple blank card, and a potted Norfolk pine. In the basket are an assortment of variouscookies and confections made by Aladdin himself.
The card reads as follows:]
To Alice:
I read that pine trees are decorated as Christmas trees, so I thought you might like to have one! Thank you for introducing me to a really fun holiday.
Happy Christmas!
-Aladdin
[...the pine, of course, is not remotely Christmas Tree shaped, but he's got the spirit.]
[Delivered on the morning of the holiday will be an elegantly wrapped box, and contained within will be a little party dress. Aware of her feelings towards the Queen of Hearts, he avoided any direct link to the woman, however he did take some tips from the energetic and wild style of the Heartsyabul dorm. Instead of card suits, there are little hedgehogs, smiling cats, butterflies, and flamingos, and the only slight nod to the Queen was a little fabric rose on the hat, that had a red base but the top have bleached white to make it look as though the red rose had been painted white. A little cheeky breaking of a silly rule was all in good fun, right?
The outfit was colorful and fun, but easy to move around in and, out of mercy for her caretakers, sturdy and easy to wash.]
Alice, To my young friend who I fear has been very lacking in unbirthday parties in this place, I thought you could use a new dress for your next one, or perhaps your next tea party? It should also hold up for any other adventures you seek to go on, after all, fun clothes are best when worn, yes? I hope it serves you well. Happy Holidays, Vil
Thank you so much for the dress! It's simply lovely! I shall absolutely wear it to my next unbirthday party, which you're quite right, I've been sorely lacking in!
I shall be sure to send a cordial invitation when it's time for the tea party! I think it shall have to be an indoor one, however, if this cold weather is to continue! I hope you stay warm, sir!
[On Christmas morning, Jasmine visited Alice to have a little Christmas brunch with her. While she was there, she left on the girl's bed a rather hefty package. There's a Khatoon doll dressed like an Agrabanian woman; there are also a scarf and ear socks clearly designed to fit the stuffed rabbit Jasmine gifted her earlier this year. Finally, she got made from the pottery shop a clay version of a traditional chess set as Jasmine would have known back home. On top of this package is a card inside a wax-sealed envelope with Alice's full name scribed in elegant cursive on the front, in both Roman and Persian (آلیس لیدل) alphabet. The card's message reads:]
Dearest Alice,
Thank you for introducing Aladdin and I to the wonderful holiday known as Christmas - Aladdin can't seem to get enough of it! Here's another friend for your tea parties and another chess set for your collection - we can play it with either your rules or Agrabah's, whichever you prefer.
Never forget how wonderful and special you are - and as long as your sister and parents aren't here, your roommates, Bakugou, and I will continue to be your family away from home.
[On a particular day in early February, the mail mice will deliver a red envelope to Alice. It's folded to resemble a little pouch, and inside are found eight flower seeds and two lines of calligraphy.]
May the waning year have planted the seeds for good fortune, And the coming year see flowers bloom all around you.
I have a secret I want to share with you... It's Bakugo's birthday soon! I know he wouldn't like a big party but I still think it would be nice to have a small one with just a few people and I'm sure he'd want you there! Would you like to help me with making a cake for a surprise for him?
[He was told of this house and the daughter he lives with - what was her name, again? No matter. If Loki answers the door, Taryon can ask again. In one arm, he has a box of cookies fresh from the Slayer's Cake. As a new resident, it's up to him to greet his neighbors.
He walks up to the door, which he is certain is the right one, and knocks.]
[It is not Loki who opens the door, instead, it opens and Taryon will have find... open space? No, by looking down (and down), he will find one Alice Liddell, her hair pulled back in a ponytail while colored pencils were behind her ears, and several more were in the pockets of her pinafore. She tilted her head and blinked owlishly before tilting her head the other way.]
Hello, sir. [She reached up to remove the pencils from behind her ears.] Who are you?
I love cuppycakes! [Alice is very much aware that is not what they are called, but she LIKES calling them cuppycakes.] And I like you! So logically, I would sharing cuppycakes with you!
Hi. Uh — I know you don't know me so feel free to ignore this, but my name is Nina Ironfist. I wanted to talk to you about the discussion you had with someone over the Oracle recently. The guy who was planning to kill the dragon?
[Nina is going to find out that Alice is one, tiny upon seeing the video. Not only is she tiny, she's young. And not young because of time shenanigans, oh no. She is ACTUALLY young.]
Oh, hello Ms. Ironfist. [ Alice offers a curtsy to the camera. The guy... oh, him. Alice scrunched up her nose.] He didn't succeed in killing the dragon, did he? [She frowns and sighs...] He wasn't eaten either, was he? [Just because he's a selfish idiot doesn't mean he should DIE. Alice isn't so heartless.]
[Several hours after this post, just enough time for everyone to cool off and calm down, Alice will receive a call from her big brother.]
Imouto. [His voice is stern, but not necessarily upset. Katsuki is just noting that this talk is going to be a little more serious than just a casual hello.] I want to talk to you about how you behaved earlier today - what you said.
You got a minute? I can continue on the phone or come over, your choice.
[Since he's sure she might take this as him being mad at her, or assuming she is in trouble, which is not the case. Katsuki is just setting things straight with a young girl who needs to be taught, properly, that things are not simply black and white - there is a lot of nuance in how people think and act, and she shouldn't incriminate nor insult them for that.]
[Alice IS immediately worried she's in trouble when she hears that tone. She begins pulling on her fingers, an immediate sign she's nervous. What she said? What did she say?]
I think... in person? [She knows Katsuki would never yell at her or strike her, well... not her her. But what child likes to hear to know they might have done something wrong?]
Sleipnir is a horse, not a goat, I'm not Sleipnir nor a goat, but yes I am his child. [Is she kind of being a brat? Yes, but Alice isn't actually TRYING to be, she thinks she's being very helpful in clarifying who she is in relation to Loki. Alice has never been specifically identified as "Loki's child" before but it is true.]
Things were getting increasingly difficult, and Loki was, increasingly, staying at home. Mostly to brood think about a great many things. But it meant he also was keeping an eye out more on those he lived with. Particularly one little girl who had a penchant for trouble and a curious nature. She hadn't seemed to be terribly affected so far, but that didn't mean she hadn't been.
Armed with tea, and the chessboard, Loki went to hunt up Alice. If nothing else, give him a break spent with one of the people who had opened his heart. And she had it completely open for herself, with him, as Alice was a true joy in his life.
Alice can be found outside since it was still lovely weather despite all the oddities going on. She is at her little table with Cheshette fast asleep in one chair and several stuffed animals in the others. Alice grew a giant daisy to act as a massive umbrella, providing shade from the sun for the assembled group. She currently had her knees drawn up to her chest with her bare feet resting on the chair, a book balancing precariously in her lap, and a tea cup in one hand that looked close to spilling as Alice was engrossed in the story. Cheshette, now more cat than kitten, was currently licking up a saucer of cream and meowed to let Alice know Loki was coming.
It took Cheshette jumping into Alice's lap for Alice to actually pay attention.
